My “babies” are now 5 and 8. I remember shopping for our first baby. I wanted to have the best of the best for our new little bundle of joy. It felt a little overwhelming at times and a lot expensive too. I was glad to have the help from our family and that Daddy B was so willing to listen to a young, pregnant first time Mama and not go crazy before our boy got here. Even though I don’t get to shop the baby sales for myself anymore I still get to shop for friends and family as they grow their own families. If you have a baby shower to attend or are expecting a baby yourself you should check out the Sears All Things Baby Sale.

A mantra for new parents: Making the best nest starts with giving your wallet a rest. But the list never ends, right? It seems that preparing psychically, mentally and emotionally aren’t the only things you need to worry about when it comes to expecting a baby these days. Having a little one calls for some big decisions like choosing the best pediatrician and making a birth plan. The last thing weighing on your mind should be the status of your bank account. That’s why the Sears ‘All Things Baby’ sale was practically made for you. Similar to the effects of prenatal yoga, saving money on baby essentials can be a huge relief. Now get back to concentrating on the important things like what color you’ll be painting the nursery. If by chance you forget something on your list, just follow our favorite advice from real parents: Improvisation is OK!
I like to buy diapers, wipes, baby blankets and small items and make diaper cakes to give as gifts at baby showers. There are many ways to make them you can even go a step further and do a carriage, motorcycle or a baby laying down all made from diapers. You can never have too many diapers right? I used disposable diapers with our first baby and cloth diapers with our second. I also didn’t baby wear our first much but did our second. If I have any more children I will baby wear as much as I can. For me it allows me to be as close to my child as I can be but still have my hands to do other things at the same time. Baby wearing may not be for everyone just like cloth diapers aren’t for everyone. I had a couple baby carriers that I used a lot. I didn’t know much about them back then but I knew enough that I knew it made me happy to wear my boy around. He enjoyed it too. If I have any more children I would like to get an Ergobaby carrier, a BabyBjorn carrier and a few slings. The Sears all things baby sale has a lot of choices for carriers and slings (61 as I searched just moments ago).
What are your must have items for baby? What would your next baby purchase or baby shower purchase be? Will you be shopping the Sears all things baby sale?
