I love cooking with my crock pots (slow cookers). Lazy? Maybe to a point- but they are easy and get the job done. For most recipes if it has to be cooked it can be made in a crock pot. You can fix your recipe that morning and let it cook all day in the slow cooker while you are busy doing other things and you can have dinner ready without spending a lot of time in the kitchen. Desserts cook up well in the crock pot too. An easy way to meal plan for a week or maybe two is to find the crock pot recipes you want to make, gather the ingredients and put ingredients for each recipe in a freezer bag and freeze. Grab a freezer meal from the freezer and put it in the crock pot and let it do its thang… easy peasy right? No worries of it creeping up on dinner time and the kids come in from school asking “What’s for dinner?”.

I’ve put together a list of crock pot dinner and dessert recipes. You can join Foodie and make your own collections of what ever recipes you desire. For my crock pot dinners and desserts I have some different types of soups and stews, lasagna and chicken parmesan sandwiches for dinner. Then I have bananas foster, monkey bread and easy fruit cobbler that can have dessert ready to serve once you’re done with dinner. I’m not a lazy cook, I’m a smart cook. If you can have the same recipe cooked for you without you having to stand there and stir and cook wouldn’t you toss the ingredients in the crock pot, set the timer and walk away? Yeah that’s what I thought 😉 I’d rather hook up my crock pots than run my oven for a couple hours to have dinner ready on time. Less heat in the house in the summer time and less electricity being used (with most recipes).
