Try the Grey Stuff- Beauty & The Beast inspired dessert #BeOurGuest #BeautyAndTheBeast

Have you seen the new character posters featuring Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast from Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the studio’s animated classic (and one of the most beloved tales ever told), Beauty and the Beast? The film, which brings the story and characters audiences know and love to life in a stunning, cinematic event, is directed by Bill Condon and features an extraordinary ensemble cast which also includes Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson.

Beauty and the Beast has always been my favorite Disney movie. Belle was and still is my favorite Disney Princess. Not because she gets the castle or the guy, I wanted to be Belle when I was a little girl because I wanted the library. I’ve always been a book nerd so to see a princess who was a book lover was awesome to me. Belle and The Beast taught me a lot to carry on through my life and I hope that my baby girl can learn and enjoy the same lessons. What lessons did I learn from Beauty and the Beast?

  • True beauty comes from within
  • Never stop learning aka read books
  • Dare to be different
  • Look beyond what you can see
  • Believe in magic
  • Don’t be afraid to try something new

Speaking of trying something new, have you tried the grey stuff? It’s delicious. Don’t believe me? Ask the dishes. Those are lines from one of my favorite Beauty and the Beast characters Lumiere while singing Be Our Guest. You can actually order the grey stuff if you visit the Be Our Guest restaurant in Walt Disney World. Can’t make a trip to Disney? Burst out in song of Be Our Guest in your own kitchen and make your own grey stuff… it’s delicious!

Beauty and the Beast Grey Stuff recipe

ingredients:
2 boxes (3.3 oz) white chocolate instant pudding
1 box (3.3 oz) chocolate instant pudding
4 cups cold milk
15 Oreo cookies, crushed
8 oz. container of Cool Whip

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk or mix together the two boxes of white chocolate instant pudding with the 4 cups of cold milk until well combined (thickened and no lumps). Let it cool in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
  2. Use a food processor or large ziploc bag with rolling pin and crush the oreo cookies to a fine crumble.
  3. Remove the pudding from the fridge and mix in the cookie crumbs.
  4. Gently fold in the cool whip to the pudding mixture.
  5. Add 3 Tablespoons of the chocolate instant pudding powder to the pudding/cool whip mix to get desired grey color.
  6. Let pudding mix aka grey stuff chill in the fridge for 1-2 hours before serving.
  7. You can use the grey stuff on top of graham crackers, cookies, brownies, or if you have no restraint like me you can eat it straight from the bowl on its own with a spoon.
